A Pigments are loose color powder in a small jar that are highly concentrated and contain ingredients to help them blend easier and last long. I personaly am a fan of the MAC pigment but I also use pigments from NYX. Pigments are available in matte and frosted finishes and come in an excellent range of colors. Pigments do not streak or cake. Some people use pigments to intensify their eyeshadow color. They are not used very often because they can be a little messy (fall ou disaster) or some people just don,t know what it’s for. But there are many different ways to use pigments.
Eyeshadow
As i said earlier. You can intensify your eyeshadow color with almost the same shade of pigment. This is also the most common way to use pigments. You can use the pigments wet or dry. Using them wet (foiling) makes the color more fibrant and will also prevent fallout, it will also give the pigment a metallic look once applied to the eyes.
Lips
Mix a tiny bit of pigment to clear lipgloss, or Vaseline (I prefer vaseline) or any other lip balm that’s clear. Some people apply the gloss to the lips first then apply the pigment over the gloss, but I like mixing it first.
Face
Mix a shimmery pigment into foundation or your moisturizer for a beautiful dewy look. I like using glittery or shimmery pigments with a brown, beige or pink shade.
Blush
Great way to use pigments. Pink, peach, red and orange pigments are the best colors.Add a little bit on a plastic plate and tap on your brush, tap off the excess and apply to your cheeks. and to light up your cheeks apply a very small amount of a shimmery pigment to highlight. Same method as the blush application.
Nails:
sprinkle the pigments ( I prefer glittery pigment) over nail polish before it has dried.

Hi Every one.
I have been very busy these couple of days so háven’t had time to post on my blog. But here I am !!!!
Today I decided to post about the subject I get most questions about: How I paint my nails. I know it is better to let you see on camera how I do it , but unfortunately my camera does not produce the best movies. I will try my best to explain it in steps. If you are gonna do this you have to be patient. It might take 45 minutes to an hour before your finished. If you do this frequently you wil get the hang of it.
Okay so here goes…
1. It is inportant to start with a clean nail. the surface of you nails must be oil free. Otherwise your nailpolish will peel off.
2. Always use a good base coat to protect your nails from staining and chipping and let it dry. I like to use the anti aging base coat from Koh. With a base coat your nailpolish can last for a week without chipping. Did you know that?? Okay back to the subject.
3. choose the color of polish you want to put on and swipe off one side of the brush. Place a drop of polish at the bottom of your nail at the center. Approximately 0.5 cm above the cuticle.
4. Very slowly! push the drop towards the cuticle and leave a small gap.
5. Now move your brush upwards making a straight line till the end of the nail.
6. Go back to the base of the nail and swipe the polish along the curve of the nail. Drag the polish until the whole side of the nail is covered. Also leave a small gab just like you did above your cuticle.
7. Repeat step 6, but do this on the other side of the nail.
10. Apply a 2nd coat (deppending on how your polish covers). Finish with a (quick drying) top coat (seche vite, rapid dry by opi or nail tek)

Hi everyone.
I Have been searching for very high pigmented, insanely bright and bold eyeshadows for a while now and I know I’m not the only one. I found some at the Bijenkorf (Beehive translated from Dutch) which is a department store in Holland, but the were not as bright as I wanted them to be. Mac also has bright colors, but for people with a darker complexion you need eyeshadows with a lot of pigment. Bright eyeshadow for dark skinned women is really hard to find in Holland. Black opal, blackup and Mac have bright colors and but not bright enough. Eyeshadows with a lot of pigments are usually much more expensive. (So I have heard) So I did my research and I found a make up brand called Sleek where you can find the most amazing in your face bright rainbow colors. I was familliar with this brand but I never knew they had these gorgeous affordable colors. Most of the shades on the palettes contain matt and shimmery colors. It’s not everyday you come across a palette with mostly neons and just a few shimmery colors. Usually it’s the other way around.
Sleek I Divine- Acid Sleek I divine-Curacao Sleek I Divine- Circus

This is what the colors of the palette Acid (L) and curacao (R) look like om your skin.

The Neon shades are harder to work with cause they’re very matt, but if you use a good eyeshadow base it should be fine. The’re also prone to fallout. Unfortunately you can’t buy Sleek product in a drugstore but at a local afroshop. I have used the foundations from sleek as well and I am so incredibly impressed… it’s insane. If you use it with a foundation brush it gives a full coverage. Hell!! even with your fingers.
I also wanted to share these 2 very pretty blushes from Sleek Santorini (L) and Aruba (R) with you.( swatches on the third picture)

I am gonna make sure that the first thing I’ll jump to try is the Santorini blush from the Mediterranean collection and Aruba blush from the Caribbean collection. I ordered them last week and should receive them one of these days. (sooooo exited) The pigmentation on the blushes are awesome. If you’re not like me and prefer a softer shade you can apply the Santorini lightly, If you’re a woman of any color but especially if you have darker skin, you’ll love Santorini blush (a mattebright fuchsia pink). On lighter skin you can always tone it down with powder and with darker skin the deep tones in your complexion can handle the brightness. I had been stalking a blush like this since 4 ever. Another universally flattering bright blush is Aruba from the upcoming “Caribbean collection”. It’s another blush that can be toned down for lighter complexions and can be carried well by darker ones. Sleek blushes are very pigmented and go on smooth.
If you have these amazing palettes and blushes at home send me some pictures so I can see how you worked with them. As soon as I have my camera I will post some pictures as well.
Available at: http://www.boozyshop.nl or http://www.sleekmakeup.com/ or at your local African afroshop. The paletts are 8 euro’s and the blushes are 5 euro’s each on boozyshop.

Fashion tips
We all know that fashion changes every year. The fashion trends for 2010 were a lot of hot pants, knee high socks, lace, leather and cut out clothing but now we have to say goodbye to all of that and say hello to the fashion trends and tips for 2011. I always follow the basic trends and mix that up with the current trend of the year I,m in. If you follow the basics you can’t go wrong. Below are some tips and basic fashion pieces for best fashion advice that can be given to anyone during any time of the year.
1. Choose the clothes that look good on you and suit your body.
No matter what trendsetting or fashion forward clothing you purchase if it will not compliment your body then you’d better put it back.
2. On Jewelry: Less is not always more. I love to accessorize with big and bold accessories. For example wooden beads and bright colored bangles are a good sight during the summer. I always have standard jewelry in gold, silver, bronze and black which come in handy during the winter or a formal event.

3. In the winter: Accessorize!
During the cold season I add a little color to the weather. Accessorize with sweaters and scarves ( it should match with your outfit off course )and try to mix and match things, if I am wearing tight jeans, I wear a big sweater on top to accentuate my legs.
4. Shoes and belts:
My shoes and belts are always the eye catcher.
Make sure that they are regularly kept clean and shiny. Expecially the tips of your high heels. (If you wear high heels) The tips always tend to wear down. If that happens you can purchase a pair of heel tip replacements and bring them at your local shoe repair shop to repair this problem.- there’s nothing worse than a pair of worn down pumps combined with nice pair skinny jeans.

5. If you look good, smell good.
I always carry deodorant in my purse and a body splash. If you’re on the way and start getting sweaty first whipe of the sweat with a tissue before spraying on the deodorant.
6. Skinny jeans are still in!
Yes! Skinny jeans are still in! So don’t throw out your skinny jeans yet. Nothing is as complimentary as a good pair of high-waisted, ankle exposing, skinny jeans.

7. Summer Fashion tips:
In the summer be sure to wear loose fitting clothes that are made of natural fabrics and are in light colors, printed kaftan might just be making a wave this year. For a little style and functionality, a wide-brimmed hat will keep those harsh UV rays away and will also keep you looking elegant.
8. Add color in the winter:
Spring colored sweater should add some color during the pale winter. Make sure you wear bright printed winter clothes-just so you won’t blend in with all the snow.
10. Check online!
For the latest in fashion news and trends, always check online, this is the most updated source of fashion information. Also try to look and see what celebrities are wearing these days. I always do that and add my own twist to it.

Fashion basics
you should always have basic fashion pieces in your wardrobe that will always be in style. Add trendy items each season to update your wardrobe for a fresh new look.
If you have a handful of basic wardrobe items you can save money while staying in style. That’s why you should invest in the highest quality you can afford since you’ll have them for years to come.
Basic Pants and Jeans
include at least two classic pairs of pants and a pair of jeans for your basic fashion wardrobe. Select rises and leg lines that flatter your body type. Most women look best in a rise that comes slightly below the natural waist. The younger you are the lower rise you can get away with. Avoid a low waistband that creates what is known as muffin top or a high waistband that gives you a “nerdy” look.

Two or three knit tops with basic lines in your wardrobe for an eternally stylish foundation will do. Since length trends vary from year to year, you’ll want them to hit you mid-hip. Select necklines that flatter your body.
The classic trench coat will work with your wardrobe for years. I wear it in spring and summer months as a raincoat or layer it with sweaters and scarves to stay warm in the fall and winter.

A button-front white shirt can be a girl’s best friend. You can wear it with any bottoms without having to worry about it matching. There are many ways to change the look of it for example:
The sheath is the most versatile of all dress styles. Wear it in black or have one in your favorite color to make your personal statement. You can wear the sheath dress in a variety of ways as the seasons and styles change.
Ways to change the look of the sheath dress:

I honestly don’t really like ballet flats cause I hate the way it they look on my feet. But regardless of your figure type and style, you’ll want a high-quality, comfortable pair of ballet flats in your wardrobe. You can wear them with jeans or your favorite dress.
Now that you have the foundation of eternal stylish pieces in your wardrobe, you can add inexpensive trendy piece each season. basic pants, jeans, knit tops, a trench coat, a white button-front shirt, and a great pair of ballet flats will never go out of style. I hope this will help you out.
Let me know if you have some tips or suggestions or if you have any questions.
